With a choice of eating in the dining room, the Green Lizard Room, or the bar, you’re presented with food that perfectly reflects an authentic outback dining experience — generous, quality, traditional pub food simply presented.
And while the menus are seasonal*, it is sometimes impacted by when the hotel receives supplies — especially if the roads are blocked or closed due to rain or flooding. Fortunately, the kitchen staff, renowned for their forward and creative thinking, can adapt the menu so that quality meals are always on offer.

Breakfast is a continental affair with toasts, cereals, fruit, yoghurt and juices on offer. For large groups, a cooked buffet-style breakfast can be arranged and includes bacon, eggs, tomatoes, sausages and more.
The lunch menu features a selection of dishes worthy of any upmarket café including Birdsville beer battered Barra, gourmet sandwiches and wraps, plus a kids menu.
Dining at night will have you drooling over a diverse range of traditional dishes with dairy free, gluten free, and vegetarian options available.
A quality wine list completes the dining experience and, in a nod to the latest trend, barista-made coffee is available as well.
Outdoor Dining & Entertainment
The authentic dining experience extends outside of the pub to the magnificent outdoor dining and entertainment area. The area has its own bar and extensive seating where you can dine either undercover or under a night sky of brilliant stars. There’s also BBQs and pizza oven for specialty themed dining.
The garden incorporates a stage for visiting bands, a kids playground, and fire pit for staying warm while yarns are spun on frosty Birdsville evenings.
