Tour Itinerary and Details

Departing from the front of the Birdsville Hotel, our Birdsville Sights Tour takes in all of the prominent attractions worth seeing in our unique little town.

Learn about the fascinating Geothermal Power Plant that once powered the township, the old Royal Hotel built in 1883 and historic now ruins, the Frontier Services Building (the local hospital) that was only decommissioned in 2006 to mentioned just a few before heading over the Diamantina to the Race Track, home of the famous Birdsville Races. Also visit the old Diamantina River crossing, the Burke and Wills tree, witness birdlife on the beautiful Billabong before stopping by the Bronco Branding Yards where cattleman horsemanship was once the backbone of the region.

The tour concludes back at the hotel where you’ll enjoy a complimentary drink in the front bar, a bucket list experience for many.
