Kitchen Staff
- A range of kitchen staff including qualified chefs as well as experienced cooks to join our team
- Proven previous experience and qualifications are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing the kitchen before meal service – this involves working through a Task List to ensure the kitchen is ready for work (such as switching on equipment).
- Cleaning the kitchen before and after food service so that it is ready for the next shift.
- Preparing ingredients such as chopping vegetables, stocks, meats, desserts as outlined on your Task List.
- Looking after stock in the kitchen and informing the Supervisor of stock levels noting ordering requirements and inventory reflecting demand.
- Knowing the menu and cooking according to the menu and recipe design to ensure quality and consistency.
- Garnishing and presenting every meal with pride and care regardless of how busy the kitchen is.
- Respecting equipment and applying safety standards at all times.
- You will be fit and healthy with an outgoing nature!
- You will have ability and a willingness to jump to all manner of planned and unplanned tasks in a sometimes hectic kitchen environment
- The kitchen team member will be enthusiastic and demonstrate a desire to live and work successfully in the OUTBACK
- It is a multipurpose role in a busy work space with conflicting demands especially during special events such as The Big Red Bash Music Festival and The Birdsville Races
- You will need to be able to consistently meet deadlines and work at fast pace while maintaining excellence and care in service delivery
- It requires commitment to cooking and a genuine desire to be part of a remarkable team delivering exceptional culinary services.
- You must be willing to work closely and take direction from our Head Chef / Kitchen manager.
- Applicant must hold the following current certifications. Current food handling / safety certificate, Chef trade certificate or certificate in commercial cookery.
- Accommodation and 3 meals per day are provided for a very reasonable weekly fee.
Hotel All Rounders
- The All Rounder positions include housekeeping, laundry, meal running, bar work, meal order taking, dishes, motel reservations including check in & check out, cash handling, basic food preparation and general hotel cleaning.
- Applicants must hold a current RSA for QLD as well as hold a food handling / hygiene certificate that can be completed online.
- Personal attributes and attitudes required to deliver this role successfully include honesty, integrity, creativity, fairness, emotional intelligence, confidence, focus, energy and robust health, accountability, a can do positive attitude and most importantly a great sense of humour.
- Please note that for these positions it is critical that applicants have a high level of agility, energy and fitness.
