Birdsville & Channel Country Flood Extraordinaire

The payment made to confirm your reservations will be the full payment of the Channel Country tour currently on offer. Payments can be made at the time of making a reservation by credit card or direct deposit. Credits cards accepted are Visa or Mastercard. If paying by credit card a small transaction fee of 1% is applicable.

Tour fares include Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST) and are quoted in Australian Dollars ($AUD).

At the time of booking, passengers are asked to notify the Birdsville Hotel of any special requirements (for example health or diet) at the time the booking is made.

The full tour fare of the 5 day / 4 night Channel Country tour is to be made at the time of your booking. Given the tour will be operating over the coming weeks to take advantage of the spectacular floods currently occurring, full fare payment is required at the time of booking.

Passenger cancellation fees will be levied relative to the amount of notice given and must be received in writing or by email. Please refer to the details below:

• 21 days prior to departure: 25% of the fare paid will be charged as a cancellation fee.
• 14 days prior to departure: 50% of the fare paid will be charged as a cancellation fee.
• Less than 14 days: 100% of fare is the cancellation fee.

Changing to another tour departure date for the same tour is permitted if there is sufficient availability but is at the sole discretion of the Birdsville Hotel. Please email your request for consideration and we will make every endeavor to accommodate your request.

The Birdsville Hotel recommends that passengers take out travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances, such as cancellation. We recommend that you do this at the time of booking to insure your final payment.

Your luggage allowance is limited to one medium size suitcase or soft bag weighing no more than 10 kg. You may also take onboard one piece of hand-luggage not exceeding 2 kg per person. As your tour is largely in light aircraft, there are limitations on the size and weight of passenger luggage. Please note the Birdsville Hotel has a guest laundry that is free of charge for use.

Birdsville Hotel accepts no responsibility or liability for any injury, loss, damage, change of itinerary or inconvenience caused either directly or indirectly as a result of force majeure or other events which are outside of our control, including but not limited to: fires, floods, acts of God, unusually severe weather, industrial action or commercial flight disruptions.

Passengers are required to have a reasonable level of mobility to be able to board and alight a light aircraft. Due to space restrictions aboard our aircraft we are unable to accommodate passengers who require the use of a wheel chair or walkers. Our aircraft and vehicles are not equipped with wheel chair ramps or lifters. Passengers requiring physical or mental assistance must be accompanied by a companion who is willing and capable of providing such assistance

• Smoking is not permitted aboard any Birdsville Hotel aircraft or ground vehicle
• Seat allocations in aircraft will be at the discretion of the chief pilot for weight and balance purposes. A seat rotation system will be adopted where practical to ensure passengers are able to move around the aircraft over the course of the tour.
• Passengers accept that it is their responsibility to ensure that their health is in a state which will allow them to enjoy the tour and successfully complete the activities the tour offers.
• Passengers will not be permitted to continue on tours when in the opinion of the Birdsville Hotel General Manager the passenger's conduct or condition is placing their own or the safety of other passengers at risk, or is adversely affecting the enjoyment of other passengers; for whatever cause.
• Birdsville Hotel will take all reasonable steps to provide an enjoyable tour. However, no liability will be accepted for any loss of enjoyment experienced by passengers due to circumstances which are out of our control.

Should any dispute arise between Birdsville Hotel and a passenger, it is agreed that formal proceedings in a Court or Tribunal will not commence
until after the following process has been complied with:

A written notice specifying the nature of the dispute ("the notice").

Following the issue of the notice, the parties will in good faith attempt to resolve the dispute by negotiation, mediation, expert determination or as otherwise agreed. 

If the process for the resolution of the dispute is not agreed with within 7 days of the receipt of the notice, the parties must mediate the dispute. Mediation will be conducted in accordance with Rules and Regulations of the Queensland Law Society, as at the date of the dispute. If the parties cannot agree, the Mediator will be appointed by the President of the Law Society of Queensland, or nominee. 

If there is no resolution to the dispute at the expiration of 30 days from the receipt of the notice, formal proceedings may be commenced. The laws applicable in Queensland govern these Terms and Conditions and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the Courts and/or Tribunals of Queensland to herein determine any disputes between the parties.

The Birdsville Hotel & associated businesses respects your privacy and will only use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988. You can obtain full details of how we collect, hold, use manage and disclose your personal information from our Privacy Policy, a copy of which may be obtained free of charge on request.
